Conserving local flora and fauna

Key environmental benefits of Toondah Harbour include a connected conservation corridor with new koala food tree planting, living sea walls, protected rocky coves, oyster reefs and integral wetlands that play a stormwater management function.

In harmony with natural surroundings

Protecting and enhancing GJ Walter Park, retaining the magnificent fig, Norfolk pine and tuckeroo trees, and enhancing the local environment is paramount for the revitalisation of Toondah Harbour as a place to thrive and grow.

Explore, play and learn

A conservation park with wetland education and cultural centre will be complemented by low impact boardwalks, nature and heritage trails and a new visitor centre. The revitalisation will provide new exploration, play, and education areas for conservation and habitat protection programs.

A practical and environmentally responsive solution

The current environmental impact studies, research and analysis seeks to find balanced outcomes to protect and preserve the environmental qualities of the area, while delivering much needed infrastructure investment, local employment and foreshore amenities for the growing Redlands Coast community.

Toondah Harbour is an exciting new, modern coastal village that is set to transform the Redlands.

Along with a vibrant harbourside precinct, Toondah Harbour will also create stunning new foreshore parklands with a lagoon and water play area, walking, cycling and heritage trails, contemporary waterfront homes and marina coves.

Much-needed upgrades to the current ferry facilities will allow for easier access to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and, potentially, the southern Moreton Bay islands.

A range of new recreational boating facilities including marina berths will also bring additional tourism and economic benefits to the Redlands Coast community.
