Championing a bright future for Redlands Coast
We are excited to announce our partnership with the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce newest initiative – Championing Redlands Coast!
An exciting collaborative initiative between industry, government and the community, Championing Redlands Coast promotes the region as a strong choice for new projects.
Research by RPS for Championing Redlands Coast has identified that an investment pipeline of $6 billion over 138 projects will generate more than 12,000 construction jobs for the Redlands Coast, bringing significant economic benefits to the region in the wake of COVID-19.
Our $1.4 billion vision for the new Toondah Harbour will support Championing Redlands Coast’s vision by delivering almost 25% of the region’s $6 billion in new economic value and creating more than 8% of the 12,250 new local jobs.
The masterplan for Toondah Harbour will establish Redlands as the new and improved gateway to Moreton Bay, a tourism destination in its own right, and create more than 1,000 full-time jobs each year during construction and 500 ongoing jobs once complete.
The current port requires upgrades of the landside facilities and amenities, and the shallow and narrow Fison Channel that links Moreton Bay to Toondah Harbour requires significant works to make it safer for ferry operators, recreational craft and fisherman that use the channel now and into the future.
It is estimated that the project will contribute more than $3.7 billion of direct and indirect economic benefits during construction. After construction, Toondah Harbour will bring 50,000 additional visitors to the Redlands Coast each year, injecting $17 million in economic activity for local businesses.
