Get to know Walker Corporation the project team behind Toondah Harbour
From vision to reality, the property group working with Redland City Council and the Queensland Government on the revitalisation of Toondah Harbour has a strong track record and reputation for understanding the needs and aspirations of the people who will live in, work at, and visit their projects.
With more than 50 years’ experience, Walker Corporation is committed to creating exceptional developments that incorporate innovative design, including Paramatta Square, one of the largest urban renewal projects in the country.
The project will transform the heart of Parramatta CBD into a vibrant, cosmopolitan and commercial space, attracting people to the area to shop, dine, work and relax.
Set to become Australia’s biggest office tower and delivering over 120,000 sqm of office space, 6 & 8 Parramatta Square is arguably the most important part of this city-making project.
Rhodes Waterside is a prime example of how Walker are vision to reality experts, transforming the site into a world-class destination.
During the early 1900s, Rhodes was Sydney’s industrial heartland and home to the Berger Paints factory. One of the major factories located in Rhodes Alfred Street in 1917, Berger specialised in producing white lead, linseed oil and paint. Berger played a vital role in the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge supplying 762 litres of paint!
Flash forward to 2021, Rhodes Waterside is a vibrant community which is the perfect example of urban transformation with a mix of residential, retail and commercial.
Walker’s master planning vision has also turned hope into dreams at the Hope Island resort style residential community, complete with a marina, golf course and vast outdoor space. Originally in the hands of overseas interests, the site was neglected for many years before Walker began de-development and evolved the site into a first class master planned community where more than 2,000 families now live, work and play.
Revival of the Redlands Coast
Walker first became involved in Toondah Harbour after a request was made by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) and Redland City Council.
Their investment in the environmental, cultural and economic future of the Redlands will be a game-changer for the City and South East Queensland.
What is of great importance to Walker Corporation is the renewal of Toondah Harbour to deliver a sustainable, thriving new coastal destination that the Redlands community can be proud of.
As Australia’s largest private, diversified development company, Walker have delivered more than 1,000 projects that span the length and width of Australia and internationally.
Their proven track record is evident in their many iconic developments, including Hope Island Resort (QLD), Wooloomooloo Wharf (NSW) and Broadway Shopping Centre (NSW) as well as their extensive pipeline of transformational future projects such as Collins Square (VIC), Paramatta Square (NSW), Senibong Cove (Malaysia and Festival Plaza (SA)
They are one of the few developers with expertise across all areas of the property spectrum from residential, retail, commercial, industrial and resort living, through to master planned communities.
Walker are proud of their history, partnering with governments and local councils to create vibrant and thriving destinations that have helped strengthen the local economy and shape resilient, sustainable and much loved communities.
