Questions answered during the session:

• 3:14: Do you think that you know enough about the koalas to be able to assess the impacts?
• 3:52: We saw that UAV were being used, how does that help the study?
• 5:32: How much Koala habitat will be impacted by the PDA?
• 7:32: Wildlife crossings are effective in providing safe pathways for koalas to range. Will they be part of your recommendations?
• 11:09: How many extra vehicular movements will there be in Shore ST East and local streets where we know koalas live and move through during the construction phase and after construction is completed?
• 16:10: How would you expect the resident koala population to respond to the continuous noise, traffic and disturbance arising from a 20 year construction project?
• 17:44: How many koalas have been found living and moving through the PDA area in your surveys to date?
• 18:45: What is the future for koala habitat in the area?
• 20:03: Koala Strategy for the wider area. Difference between Council and State strategies around Koalas?
• 21:00: How can the process assist in the genetic diversity?
• 24:24: Koalas do not eat all types of eucalypts. It takes 15 years plus for a koala feed tree to grown to be used by koalas. The current trees are being eaten out at present - what are they going to eat in the interim period? They will have to move further afield to find food, that increases their chance of being killed by cars and dogs. How will the koalas cope with moving from north to south of the PDA?
• 27:18: Do you expect the koala to become locally extinct?
• 28:45: Will Walker fund construction of all bridges and overhead walkways needed by koalas, other fauna and people?
• 33:14: Will the Koalas continue to be monitored throughout the development to ascertain how they are being affected.
• 36:34: Not sure if Craig said yes to the question of Walker funding all infrastructure needed by koalas, fauna and people?
• 37:58: How many trees does a mature koala require? Will relying on foreshore ranges either side of the PDA and after other habitat is lost cause overpopulation and inbreeding?
• 41:22: If the project commences and the koala population crashes, what happens then?
• 42:52: Redland City Council recently voted not to include protection of wildlife corridors in the City Plan. How will Walker be able to protect these needed connections?
• 50:45: Light pollution is greatly affecting wildlife at night.
• 54:00: The koala population is crashing - true. Being a regular traveller to our property at Amity Point, we see the decreasing number of koalas there and at Cleveland. Just looking at Adrian's map of the Cleveland area we note the huge area of the new development is not in place. If it does happen, how can koalas negotiate their way along the coast, through all the development as it is shown on the Walker site?
• 57:03: Adrian - if you determine that the negative impacts on the koalas are too great, would BAAM recommend against the project?
